About Us

TO OUR LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN

Wimberley, Texas has been our home away from home for many years! We have been visiting our daughter, Shelli, and her family in Wimberley for years and enjoyed staying at the cabins when the original owners, the Sheffields, owned them.

In January 2017, the opportunity to purchase Cabins on the Square became available. Along with our daughter, Shelli (a real estate agent with an eye for design!), we lovingly renovated and decorated the cabins to preserve their charm and character. The space is unique because of its location in downtown Wimberley with private Cypress Creek access – offering the best of both worlds!

Okie Goes Texan:  We lived in Waurika, Oklahoma for over 50 years and owned a cattle ranch and several other businesses over the years, including a clothing and convenience store.  We were proud to raise our children in a small, tight knit community and we were very involved not only while they were growing up but continued to be years after they left home.  These activities involved our local church, school board positions, community service projects, and supporting our schools and local children just to name a few.   However, in May of 2024 we decided to take a leap of faith, embrace change and move south to see what being a TEXAN is all about.. (Also, to be close to the businesses we love and some of our family) We look forward to immersing ourselves into the Wimberley community, supporting other local businesses, the school and children.  We’ve always believed it “takes a village” and we’re glad to call Wimberley our new home

Our hobbies include, following Oklahoma State sports, visiting our kids in Edmond, Dallas and Wimberley and catching all the activities we can of our busy grandchildren ages 5-19.

The cabin offered terrific access to the creek just steps outside of the cabin and many lounge chair options to sit outside and soak up nature in a very peaceful and quiet setting. We even got treated to watching lightning bugs at dusk sitting in the chairs outback overlooking the creek! And it had the best walking access to restaurants with the cabin being located right on the square. It was a very luxurious experience and we highly recommend.."

"The Cabins on the Square lived up to its name. Perfectly placed right in the heart of town, but still quiet with a view of the creek to wake up to every morning. We were walking distance to a lot of what the downtown square had to offer (shopping, restaurants and more). My friends I stayed here for a girl's weekend and we could not have asked for a better place. The host was easy to get ahold of and provided nice little touches like firewood for the fire pit behind the cabin, water bottles for the Keurig and k-cups for coffee in the morning. It was a lovely stay and we will be back."
